Described in Sveriges kyrkor: Närke (Bd. I, hft. 2: 359-361) as a fragment of the pedestal base of a medieval limestone baptismal font; it was dated to the 12th century in Norberg (1944, Bd. II: 8) within a similar group consisting of the fonts/bases at Mosjö, Täby and Almby [No. 1] but, unlike the other three, this base has four carved human heads on the sides. Roosval (1917: 35) dated it to the second half of the 12th century. [An 18th-century wooden baptismal font, similar to the one at nearby Axberg is still in use -- neither of these are included in the Index (the font is illustrated in SK: Närke (Bd. I, hft. 2: pl. 311 on p. 360))]
