Church Notes: ca. 1200 church; much modified since; restored 20thC
Described in Sveriges kyrkor: Närke (Bd. I, hft. 2: 213) as a fragment of the pedestal base of a medieval sandstone baptismal font; it was dated to the 12th century in Norberg (1944, Bd. II: 8) within a similar group consisting of the fonts/bases at Täby, Hovsta and Almby [No. 1]. There have been three fonts in this church: 1)stone font in the church until 1752; 2)replaced by wooden font in 1762; 3)Gotland font made by Erik Fant in 1950.
