Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Närke (Bd. I, hft. 1:72-73) as a limestone baptismal font donated to the Sankt Nikolai church in 1625 by Jakob Stenhuggare; this same source informs that "generalprosten" Nicolaus Bothniensis moved the old medieval font from entrance to the chancel in 1621, but there is no indication in this source as to what happened to the old font after 1625. The new font, i.e., the 1625 donation, is octagonal all over: a small basin, a tall and thin baluster-type octagonal pedestal and a base that looks very much like the basin upside-down; the band in the middle of the pedestal -the equivalent of the old centre ring- has an inscription in Swedish with the name of the donor and the date of the donation. [cf. BSI entry for Orebro No. 1 for the medieval font here]
