Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor (vol. 190: 35, 43, 126, 130, 154-157) as a sandstone cylindrical mounted font, listed in Hallbäck (1971-72: 200ff, 209, 346) and (1979-80: 240) as part of the group of "liljenstensfuntar" [=lily-stone fonts], dated to the early- or mid-13th century and probably being originally from the parish church of Skarke. The upper rim side of the basin is ornamented with a band of leaf motif, while the lower edge has a rope motif; in between these, a large acanthus vine ornaments the basin sides; the underbowl is chamfered and plain. The base stem starts at the top with a rope moulding and is followed down by several horizontal mouldings and incised lines. The whole is raised on an octagonal plinth. The same source (ibid., p. 43) informs that this baptismal font was installed in its present location at the time of the Sigurd Curman's restoration ca. 1920. The church has a new font, made of wood, made in 1971 (ill. in SK: vol. 190, pl. 124 on p. 156). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920618F3] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century by a regional hand. [NB: see BSI entry for Skarke for a stone base said to have belonged to the font from the disappeared parish church of Skarke, destroyed in 1566]
