Scene Description: the two scalloped bases seen here demarcate two unidentified scenes; the extent of clustered ball-like motifs suggests the representation of clouds or water; in some Gotland fonts (e.g.: Ekeby) they are used in scenes of the Majestas Domini; in other fonts the cluster of balls symbolises the waters of the Jordan in the Baptism of Christ -- of the scene to the left of the image there remain what appear to be human feet and the bottom of garments

Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd, VII, hft. 2: 79-81, 98) as a "fragmentary font bowl of sandstone attributed to the stone master 'Hegvaldr'", the underbasin of which is ornamented with "fabled beasts", a "woman sucked by a dragon, Luxuria (?) and eagle", etc. On-site notes: two fragments of a Hegwald font; the top piece is actually the underbowl of a regular Hegwald font, ornamented with his typically unorthodox style of representation; the lower part appears to be part of the base of the same font.
