Described in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. II: 136) as a baptismal font of the same type as the one found in Fårö, on the small island of the same name, just NE of Gotland [cf. Index entry for Fårö]. Illustrated in Fåhraeus (1974). Unlike the font at nearby Fårö, this one consists of a round tapering basin with a rounded underbowl, all of it plain and badly damaged, the parts now repaired and put together; raised on a round pedestal base, plain except for roll moulding at the top; this base is made of two blocks; the lower one appears to have had some black lettering painted on it, but it is now very faded. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910501F4] baptismal font of the 'ciborietyp' made of limestone in the mid-13th century.
