Described in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. II: 72) as a limestone baptismal font with "musselformad cuppa" [=shell-shaped basin], probably referring to the "Paradise font" type, and dating it to the mid-13th century or earlier; the base is made of two blocks; the same source points out two round stones now [ca. 1935] found outside the chancel door, measuring 120 cm and 158 cm respectively, and suggests that they may have been the plinth of the font [="dopfuntens podium"]. Noted in Roosval (1918). In Reutersvärd (1967). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910501F2] as a baptismal font of the 'musselcuppstyp' made of limestone in the second half of the 13th century, the base with remains of reddish-brown paint. No cover present but a B&W photograph by Einar Erici [cf. ImagesArea] shows an old wooden cover decorated on the top with a turned finial in the centre and a set of several smaller motifs of the same shape around it.
