Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. I, hft. 5): limestone baptismal font of the second half of the 13th century. On-site notes: hemispherical basin with plain vertical sides and rounded underbowl. The base is conical slightly indented and equally plain, with a ring moulding atop; the basin appears to be of two parts, either originall or due to a later breakage; the cylindrical sides and the underbowl appear to be two parts. There is a hole on the inside of the basin, in the side, but it does not go right through the stone, theefore not a drain but probably a flaw in the stone [NB: although now painted with borders at the upper and lower rims of the basin sides, and just below the centre ring of the upper base, this font resembles very much those which Fåhraeus (1974) groups as "de släta funtarna" [=the plain fonts], although it does have a rounded underbowl - [a variant of the Paradise fonts?] [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 12th-century church here].
