Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. VI, hft. 5: 421, 422, 446) as one of several similar fonts of Gotland sandstone found on the island, all from about the same period (mid-1600s) and all very similar: a shallow basin (this one has ribbed pattern ornamentation on the underbowl); the base is shaped like a tall round vase and the plinth is square. The sides of the base are painted by Johan Bartsch; the date 1664 on the upper stem side indicates that time the font was painted. The same source (ibid., p. 378-379) informs that the font was moved after/during the 1913-1915 renovations from the front of the pews in the centre of the nave, to is present location in the chancel, right under the restored reredos. [NB: the basin of the medieval font from this church is now at the Statens historiska museum in Stockholm - cf. Index entry for Rone No. 2]
