Church Notes: early buildings replaced by Carolingian church of 859; collapsed 965; re-built 992; damaged 1179; re-built 1220; much modified and re-built since
Described and illustrated in Carlsson (1976) as a chalice-shaped font at the Halberstadts Dom dated to 1195; it is plain except for a ring moulding in its middle, and four couchant lion protomes -at 90-degree angles- that make up the lower base.
