Described and partially illustrated in Carlsson (1976) who mentions "the head of a bridled horse" as one of the four figures on the truncated cone of the base. Listed and illustrated in the Medeltidens bildvärld of the Stockholms Historiska Museum [http://medeltidbild.historiska.se/medeltidbild/] [accessed 16 September 2013]: a baptismal font of the 13th century made of Gotland limestone; it consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin of the 'musselcuppstyp' decorated with diagonal ribbed pattern, raised on a round pedestal base decorated with four animal heads, one of them a bridled horse; around the heads threads a rope-like object that is probably a windig serpent, but it is tethered to the base by a set of rings, all of it carved, of course. The four animal heads hark back at the four heads found in earlier Gotland fonts of the Romanesque period; the lower base is round-to-square with leaves or spurs at the corners.
