Described and illustrated in Boström (1966- , Bd. I, hft. 3: 211, 224) as a "skaftet till en medeltida dopfunt av röd, ölänsk kalksten" [=pillar of a medieval baptismal font of red limestone from Öland] from the second half of the 13th or first half of the 14th century, in the old church. The same source (ibid., p. 276) informs that "when the new font had been installed, it was decided that the old one was to be used for the baptism of 'illegitimate' children." [NB: cf. added entries for a wall-mounted holy-water stoup in this same church (gamla kyrka), and a much later font -dated to 1654- in the new church (nya kyrka)]
