Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930620F1] [accessed 10 January 2015], as a baptismal font made in 1531 by Petrus André of Västerås, it consists of a bronze basin on a cross-shaped base made of pine wood; the sides of the base are carved with kissing dragon heads; the base is painted ochre and black, and stands on a small wooden plinth painted blue. The cauldron-shaped metal basin has two square handles at the upper rim, with slightly tapering sides; the sides of the basin are divided into two registers by three very thin mouldings; the upper register has an inscription dating the basin to 1531; the lower register has floral roundels alternating with what appear to be Runic symbols -but are not. The SHM entry (ibid.) notes that the fonts at Björksta (Västmanland), Jäder (Södermanland) and Orsa (Dalarna) were made by Petrus André [Andrae]
