An illustration in Källström and Askmark (1948: pl. 73) shows an octagonal mounted baptismal font ornamented with scenes, figures, etc. Dated to 1601 in Södeberg (1987: 141). Uncorroborated information: the font, like the pulpit, was made by Daniel Thomisen, commissioned by Rasmus Ludvigsen, a Malmö city council member. The font consists of an octagonal basin with pronounced mouldings, and rounded underbowl; six of the sides of the basin have Biblical scenes on them (one is the scene with Noah and the Ark), one has an inscription on the donation of the font and the eighth has the emblem of the donor; on an octagonal base populated with book-holding human figures. Above the font is a very ornamented double-volume canopy over the font, 17th century, as well? It has figures, demi-figures and heads, columns etc.; painted and gilded, with Latin inscription s at two levels; suspended from the ceiling. [cf. Index entry for Malmo No.1 for the earlier font, now in the museum]
