Described and illustrated in Boström (1966- , Bd. II, hft. 1: 193ff): hemispheric basin with incised floral and avian motifs all around it, except at the upper rim side where there is an inscription [cf. Inscription area] and the front side, which has the donors' coats of arms; the next volume down is a square that has saw-tooth ornamentation, and the date "ANNO 1668" and the initials "PS" and WC" on the other sides [initials of Pehr Stark and Wendela von Campenhausen]; the next volume down is a baluster-type column ornamented with the same combination of motifs as the one found on the basin, and resting on identical square volume as the one under the basin (except for the date side). This whole structure is raised on a cylindrical plinth of approximately the same width as the upper rim of the basin, plain except for very thin vertical striations around its side. The whole font is made "of red Öland limestone, made in 1668, probably of the Dälie quarry in the parish of Högby" (ibid., p. 195) [material identification by geologist Erik Åhman of Uppsala, a/p note in Boström, p. 210n]. [NB: there is an earlier composite baptismal font in this church, standing at the extreme southwest corner - entry in the Index available]
