There is an entry for Dyrham [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/ST7475/dyrham/] [accessed 29 May 2016] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Bond (1908) mentions a Norman baptismal font with a scalloped-capital type of basin here. Each of the four sides of the basin has two scallops; the stem is octagonal at the top changing to square at the lower base. Wooden cover with dove finial; modern. Verey & Brooks (1999-2002) note two fonts in this church; one, a "Norman font with a square bowl with two big scallops on each side; later octagonal stem."
