Font Notes:
Jeboult (1873) notes: "The font is handsome, and peculiar in design." Kelly's Directory of 1883 reports "an ancient font" in this church. Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. Described and illustrated in Bond (1908); octagonal mounted font with quatrefoil windows on the basin sides; the middle of the quatrefoil has a rosette motif, while the hollows of the windows have other floral or foliage motifs in them; the lower part of each basin panel is carved as a cinquefoil arch. The octagonal pedestal base has multiple-arch windows and the lower base is splayed an also octagonal. Wade & Wade (1929) report "a fine Perp[endicular] font" in this church." In Pike (1989). Not mentioned in Pevsner (1958).
