Noted in Brunius (1850). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921) as a baptismal font made of sandstone decorated with four 'vigningskors', although they actually look like encircled rosettes with inserted beads, and an inscription that Tynell transliterates as "Hake", presumably the person responsible for the work; Tynell further notes the move of this font to the new parish church at nearby Uppåkra [cf. infra]. Noted and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936), in her section on the Tove master. Listed and illustrated in Carlsson (1970: 318ff and fig. 3); the basin is roughly cylindrical with a roll moulding at the upper and lower rims; rosettes [cf.supra] adorn the basin sides; there is some lettering ["hach"?] visible between the rosttes; the base has a large and plain upper ring; a bulbous volume with scalloped motif at the top and four ball motifs (?) at the lower angles; the short plinth is square. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 950627F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200; it remarks on Rydbeck's connection with the Tove master but does not endorse it, giving the possible credit to "Hake"; the SHM entry further notes that this font was moved to Uppåkra in 1864. [NB: when the 12thC parish church at Flackarp and the old parish church at Uppåkra were demolished ca. 1865 a single new parish church was built at Uppåkra to replace them; the baptismal font from Flackarp was moved into this new church in 1939 and is now located by the north wall; the old font from the demolished church of Uppåkra is now located by the south wall of the new parish church]. [cf. BSI entry for Uppåkra for that font].
