Church Notes: Oxhey Chapel was built in 1612 by Sir James Altham [Baron of the Exchequer to Elizabeth I] as a private chapel to Oxhey Place House. In 1800 Oxhey Place was demalished and the Chapel disused and neglected until 1854, when it was repaired. Licensed for public worship in 1855. Later placed in the care of the Redundant Churches Commission.
