Baptismal font of the 13th century (CIVICTRUST WEB page of the Churches Conservation Trust). James Fielding [http://digitatlas.blogspot.com] illustrates the font and notes a "13th Century octagonal polypod font with Jacobean cover. The basin is octagonal with plain tapering sides, raised on a central octagonal shaft and four detached slender rounded colonnettes with moulded capitals and bases, on a plain square lower base or plinth. The cover is of the Jacobean type, flat octagonal platform with raised scroll ribs around a central pivot, and, according to Cautley (1982) dates from the 17th century. Both font and cover are illustrated in Knott (2008).
