Listed and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: PM65000570] as a font of the 12th century with a 18th-century cover. On-site notes: a large round font, totally plain, dated to the 12th century; it is one of those massive cauldron-like affairs, except that the lower 1/3 of the basin has been trimmed to give it some shape; a thin groove has also run around the upper basin side to frame the rim. The font cover is a wooden polygonal armoire made of tall vertical panels crowned with a filigree and cross finial. [NB: the wooden frame is in dire need of repairs and reinforcement].
