Additional Comments: re-cycled font? (originally it probably was a stoup)
Font Notes:
On-site notes: it is difficult to decide what this object originally was, font or stoup, but more likely the latter. It is an oval-shaped granite basin without a drain, with rounded smooth sides and a quadrangular lower underbowl where it would have originally met an equally-shaped base; it now stands on a square pedestal which does not quite match it, and has an impressive low-domed copper lid of the 19th century (?) topped with a tall fleurdelysée Latin cross finial. Although we could not ascertain its use at the time of our visit, it appears that, of all the fonts and stoups in this church, this is the one regularly used for baptisms.
