A baptismal font in Leutmerken is mentioned in Thurgauische Beiträge zur vaterländischen Geschichte, Volume 15, 1875 (p. 58, 60). The site of the Evangelische Kirchgemeinde Bussnang-Leutmerken [www.evang-bussnang-leutmerken.ch/index.php/geschichte/kirche-leutmerken] [accessed 3 November 2019] reports that in 1614 there were two fonts in this church, one for the Catholics and another for the Protestants: "Im Mai 1612 wurde in der Pfarrkirche wieder ein Altar errichtet. Described and illustrated in Schätze des Glaubens (1999: 129) as a baptismal font dated to 1614 by an inscription; the octagonal basin has two small shields on one of the upper sides, just below the rim, bearing the coats of arms of the Reichlin families from Meldegg and Ulm; on the next side of the basin, to the right, the inscription with the date. The base consists of two parts: an octagonal pedestal and a square lower base, both modern and totally plain. The plain flat wooden lid is octagonal and appears modern.
