Listed and illustrated in Mackeprang (1941) as a baptismal font of the Horsenstypen of Jutland. Listed and illustrated in Danmarks Kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Aarhus_2519-2581.pdf] [accessed 10 December 2024]. Described and illustrated in Kunstchätze... (1991: 41, 42) as a chalice-shaped Romanesque baptismal font; the shape is a traditional chalice: hemispherical basin and a conical base with a large ring moulding on its top. The basin sides are framed on top and bottom by thin rope motifs, with vertical identical motifs dividing the basin sides into segments; there are two pairs of beatiful low-relief lions on the sides, as well as some one cross-in-a-circle symbol, and other foliage motifs; on the undernowl, between two horizontal rope mouldings, a band of scallop pattern. The centre-ring -part of the lower stone- is plain; the cone of the base is covered with foliage motifs framed in triangles. The same source [cf. supra] inform that this is one of a group of similar-looking fonts in eastern Jutland. The font appears to be in excellent shape. Udvalgte Middelalder kirker i Ostjylland (1997: 119) illustrates this font as an example of the "Horsenstypen".
