Church Notes: This church, said to be the smallest and the most beautiful in the island, dates from the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. It has ornamentation ranging from late Romanesque, through early Gothic, High Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.
Font Notes:
Listed and illustrated in the Eesti entsüklopeedia (1932) as a medieval baptismal font of a general chalice shape design with rounded corners; the octagonal basin has a protruding lip at the upper rim, and a vertical moulding at each corner; the base is also of general square shape with a large ring or roll moulding around its middle; at least one of the sides of the base is ornamented with a low-relief fleur de lis. Described and illustrated in Tuulse (1949). Illustrated in Eesti kunst (1975).
