On-site notes: looking very much like the two stoups listed for this church [cf. Index entries for Carbonne Nos. 1 & 3], this is very plain unadorned pedestal font; the inner well of the basin has been divided into two by a vertical partition at some point during its history, but it was probably not there originally. [NB: our gratitude to M. l'abbé of Carbonne, Pierre Dintilhac, and example of French hospitality and bonhomie at its best, who not only gave us access to the font and stoups in his own church, but also guided us personally to three other interesting sites in the surrounding area, all of it in the most miserable weather possible in the middle of summer!]
