On-site notes: interesting font probably of the 14th century; the basin's upper part is octagonal with a band of grapevine ornamentation below the lip of the rim; below this band, a deeply carved level of dense foliage and a number of heads which might represent angels; the next level down, the underbowl proper, has more heads set in the midst of the same dense foliage found in the mid level; the heads displayed are varied: a female, a bishop, a monk, a nun, a green-man, a male, another bishop, a jester. The stem of the base is octagonal and plain except for a few mouldings, and the short lower base is square with ball motif (?) at the four angles. It has a modern wooden lid with a cross finial. The font itself is made of a very porous yellow limestone.
