Illustrated and described in Biehl (1926) who dates it probably to the end of the 8th century. Noted and illustrated in Carletti & Giometti (2010). On-site notes: rectangular free-standing baptismal font, the front side decorated with a large Greek cross inscribed in a circle, the arms extending into scrolls on both sides, and fleur-de-lis diagonally between the arms, a further cross inscribed in the centre; there is also a braided border pattern framing this whole rectangular panel on three sides (left, upper and right sides); the upper surface of the rim is also decorated with braid, interlace and stylised animal motifs (one obviously a serpent); the font has a side drain; the vessel has been broken and repair with large metal staples and there is also areas of damage on the upper rim, lower sides, etc.
