On-site notes: although in its exterior it apears like a common late font or stoup, a look at the inside of the basin well discovers the presence of a rather odd part: a constructional mini-well within the main basin well, towards the back. But for the fact that this is an internal well, the size and presence of this mini-well reminds one of the baptismal font at Youlgreave in Derbyshire, England [cf. Index entry for Youlgreave]. This makes it a double-font, i.e., one in which a part of the basin -or a basin- is used to store the holy-water, while another part -or a second basin- is used to have the infant baptised on. On the outside, the hemispherical basin has two prominent roll mouldings as the only ornamentation; the base is a square pedestal also plain. Said to date from the 17th or 18th century.
