Illustrated in Castro Pérez (2001: pl. 58): a former Roman altar converted for use as baptismal font: the monolithic object has had a crude basin carved on it and now has a rough chalice-shape look; parts of the original Latin inscription can still be seen on it. If the shape of the object now is any indication, the conversion may have been done in the Middle Ages, perhaps in the 12th or 13th century. Described and illustrated in Rodríguez Cao & Alvarez Estrada (1996 c1994), who identify the object not as an altar but as a milestone, which accounts for the inscription locating the site 51 miles from Braga. [cf. Index entry for Santa Comba de Bande No. 2 for a later baptismal font located in the churchyard]
