Listed and illustrated in Mackeprang (1941) as a baptismal font of granite of the "Slegelsetypen". The entry for this church in Danmarks Kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Soroe_0737-0743.pdf] [accessed 18 December 2024] identifies the scene on the tub-shaped granite font as the Sacrifice of Isaac ["Isaks Ofring"], and the figure on the opposite side as a man wearing a short robe, holding a crozier ["Krumstav"] from his body. Illustrated and briefly described in Benzon (1973: 226-rettelsesblad) as a granite baptismal font of the Romanesque period; he typifies it as "Slagelsetypen". The cylindrical basin has a rope motif at the upper rim; on the side, a scene: on the left a warrior in coat-of-armour raises his right arm holding what appears to be a short-bladed knife or sword over the head of a human with bound hands who appears to cringe at the threat [cf. supra]. The short round base is ornamented with a broad rope motif. On-site notes: NW side: a bearded man stands full front, the left arm raised with staff; the right hand appears to hold his penis -- E side: the figure on the left holds a basket(?) in one hand while on the other holds an object over the other figure's head.
