Noted in Mackeprang (1941) as a Romanesque granit font of the "vestjyske type". The entry for this church in Danmarks kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/ribe/kalvslund-kirke/] [accessed 31 December 2020] notes that in 1766 the font had a painted inscription signed by the priest: "Den dyre Pagt erindre dig / Som du med Christo giorde / Elsk ham, at du i Himmerig / Med ham kand Salig vorde. H. Munch"; the inscription was removed in 1890; it futher informs that the font used to be located by the north side of the choir arch, but wes moved to the northeast corner of the nave in 1953. Illustrated and briefly described in Benzon (1973: 226-rettelsesblad) as a granite baptismal font of the Romanesque period; he typifies it as "Roskildetypen". The quasi-hemispheric basin appears plain except for a large rope motif at the upper rim; the base is made up of a centre ring and a splayed bottom part, giving it a general chalice-shape. It has a half-dome copper cover and the wooden canopy above the font is 18th-century.
