Karlsson (1985: 172 and fig. 26) points out the similarity of the ornamental pattern found in several Scandinavian fonts: Gällstad, Fröslunda, Vaage and Stånga, and as far away as the Korsstele of Kirk Michael on the Isle of Man. This pattern is also found on the Röen font. Noted and illustrated in Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 940810F3] as a baptismal font of the 'nodgruppen' made of limestone in the 15th century. The font consists of a polygonal [10 / 12 sides?] basin with rounded underbowl, raised on a round pedestal base with a splaying lower base; the decoration includes a double thin moulding around the upper sides, but it is lacking on at least one side, one with grape-vine decoration on it; the other sides are decorated with roundels inscribing a variety of well-rendered patterns, as well a loose reticular pattern on the underbowl; the very broad centre ring atop the base is patterned with a 3-strand braid; there is a sparse vine around the sloping upper side of the lower base. No cover present. The font at Skalunda, also in Uppland, is very similar to this one, probably from the same group and date.
