Described and listed as a Corinthian-style marble capital of the 10th century (cf. F.P.R.A. entry for this piece in the "Memorias y esplendores" catalogue of Las Edades del Hombre exhibition, p. 8). This source also mentions that the capital, recycled as a holy water stoup, served for years in the old parish church of San Juan and that it was later still moved to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de la Era where it performs an identical role (ibid., p. 9). The illustration shown in the afore-mentioned catalogue shows a much damaged capital, its sides ornamented with large leaves, while the bottom part, the cylindrical base, has a rope motif band all around.
