Font Notes:
Described in Mélida (1925) as a stone baptismal font in the Gothic style, and probably dated to the building of this church, ca. 1546; both the basin and the are octagonal, and there is an inscription in Gothic characters around the upper rim [inscription text not available, but it is supposed to contain a psalm, according to this source]. Another source [www.guiaesp.com/zafra] reports it as a beautiful octagonal baptismal font of carved marble, decorated in the Gothic-Mudejar style and bearing an inscription with the date 1309.
