Oliver (1840-2) writes: "We could wish the neat octagon font to be cleared of the incrustations of whitewash". Not mentioned in Pevsner (1952) Described in Hutton (1957) as an octagonal baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. The local guide by Foster (1957), who was churchwarden between 1941 and 1946, notes: "The octagonal font, in the north aisle [...] are all well executed and deserve notice."
