Font Notes:
Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1980- ). In García Sesma (1989), who dates to 1534 and gives the name of the first baptizand ["Data de 1534 y la primera criatura bautizada en ella fue un hijo del vecino Sancho Lorea, a quien se puso por nombre Juan de la Pila, por esta circunstancia"] [NB: it is an unlikely date for such an early-looking font, but there is no ambiguity as the author describes both the font and the uncharacteristic cruciferous squat base]. Described and illustrated in Domeño (1992) as a medieval baptismal font, probably from the old monastery church; very crude hemispheric basin raised directly on a cruciform lower base, all plain [NB: an 18th-century ceramic font claimed to have been made in the monastery itself exists at this church].
