Font Notes:
Tub-shaped font in fairly poor shape described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes des Yvelines (2000) as being the former royal font of the kings of France brought to Médan from the church of Saint-Pol in Paris by Henry Perdier in 1491. Charles V and Charles VI and their families were baptised in it. [no bibliographic source given]. The font appears in the illustration (ibid., v. 2, p. 669) with significant damage to the basin sides; the upper left side of the basin has a round basinette, which appears non-constructional; the rest is covered with a flat wooden lid. A report of the LRMH (no. 1092A) makes reference to a microbiological analysis carried out on the "inscription commémorative des fonts baptismaux (fin XVe siècle)"
