Church Notes: The Centre Chartraine has a WEB site with information on this former Benedictine abbey, now turned into a hospice [cf. http://ariadne.org/centrechartraine/abbeys/st-martin/st-martin.html ] [NB: the site is at present, spring 2001, "undr konstrukson"]. The church dates from 1128, but it is not known whether this stoup was converted for use at that time. The earliest parts of the crypt here have been dated to the 11thC -- Listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00097001]: "Eglise dite autrefois église Saint-Martin-au-Val"
