Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Debidour (1953: 41 and pl. II); he points out the probable origin of this stoup as the ossuary, which he dates to 1619; the Death figure on the backdrop carries the head of an adolescent in its hand. Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes du Finistère (1998) as an early 17th-century holy-water stoup now located in the southern porch of the church, though it came originally from the ossuary. It is of type not uncommon in this area of France, wall-mounted and with a back-drop and, originally, covered with a canopy or "lanternon". The basin has profuse foliage and floral motif ornamentation. The backdrop has an ornate fluted column, full with capital and base, on either side; in the centre, the "ankou", the skeleton of Death. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM29000543] with date in the 16th century.
