Le patrimoine des communes du Finistère (1998) informs that the first baptism in this church took place on Sunday January 23, 1678, after a long-drawn contest with its mother-parish, the church of Plounéventer nearby. The font is of a type common in this area of Bretagne (pedestal font with a basin ornamented with foliage, etc.) and, as usual, the more remarkable element is the baldaquin over it. The granite basin has a round well that is lined with lead; in addittion there is a lead (?) container inside the font, cylidrical and with a cover that has a hole in it, and handles on the sides [NB: a few other containers of this type are occassionally found in some churches in Brittany]
