Described in Crozet's L'art roman en Saintonge (1971: 117) as a Romanesque cylindrical baptismal font ornamented with large chevron motif. Listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00105166]: "Du 12e siècle, l'église n'a conservé de sa construction primitive que sa façade, une partie de sa tour d'escalier et une cuve baptismale." Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM17000366] with date in the 12th century. The cylindrical tub rests directly on the ground; the sides are decorated with a row of thick nested continuous chevron or zig-zag between two roll mouldings; the upper rim is damaged in several areas, some perhaps related to metal anchors for an old cover; the present cover, flat, round and plain is modern.
