Mentioned in Crozet's L'art roman en Saintonge (1971: 117) as a Romanesque baptismal font: octagonal and ornamented with large crosses. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM16000051] with date in the 13th century. The large Latin crosses are not all identical; some are plain, others potent and one appears to have some of its ends trefoiled. The old font is now raised in a squat modern octagonal base or plinth. No font cover present.
