Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?-) and in Domeño (1992) as a Romanesque baptismal font ; the roughly bucked-shaped basin has vertical roll mouldings and ball motif ornamentation, plus a horizontal roll moulding at the rim; the truncated cone base has horizontal roll moulding and row of ball motif. A photograph from ca. 1950 [cf. Images area] shows a plain flat wooden cover on it. Noted and illustrated in "Urraulgoiti, Aristu. Bataiarri erromanikoa [...] Aristuko San Andres elizako bataiarria [...] Luis Pedro Peña Santiago and Juan San Martín, 'Estudio etnográfico del valle de Urraul Alto (Navarra)', Munibe. 18 (San Sebastián: Aranzadi, 1966):.69-159. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Navarra (2008), which notes a number of Romanesque basins of similar shape in Adoain, Aristu, Elcoaz, Jacoisti, Ayechu, Ongoz. Irurozqui, Arangozqui and Zabalza, in the same valley, and Azparren, Equiza, Uli Alto, Meoz and Igal in nearby areas. This source suggests a 13th-century date for the font. Noted and illustrated in Romanico Digital [www.romanicodigital.com/cedar/pila-bautismal-44152.aspx] [accessed 14 June 2020]
