Described and illustrated in the Inventaire général... (1978) as a granite octagonal font dated 1675 by an inscription; the short basin sides are vertical and plain except for the inscribed date and a roll moulding at the lower part. The underbowl is made of graded steps, the first one crenellated. The pedestal base is also octagonal, with a vertical stem with moulding and a lower base that widens out at the foot. The basin has a 19th century lead liner. According to the same source [cf. supra] the original font was destroyed on June 23, 1674, at the time of the Dutch invasion which caused the destruction of many religious monuments on the island.
