Font Notes:
Teodor Ochoa's Diccionario geográfico histórico de Navarra (Pamplona [s.d.], p. 5-6) has two entries for 'Aguinaga': one near the village of Gulina [i.e., this one], and another near Arriasgoiti; both have churches dedicated to St. Peter. [NB: the designation to Araquil / Arakil in used in some sources; others use Iza / Itza, the name of the nunicipality]. Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?- , vol. V**: 71) and illustrated in Domeño (1992: fig. 162): medieval baptismal font; hemispheric basin with double-lip rim; below it, a blind arcade of round arched in very shallow relief. The base has a thick ring at the top and a truncated cone pedestal below it. The wooden cover, probably modern, is flat. This font appears to have been drastically re-tooled.
