Country Name: Wales
Location: Flintshire
Directions to Site: Located 4 km SE of Prestatyn

Described in Hubbard (1986) as a square basin mounted on a columnar base; the basin is ornamented with "pattern of lobes and intersecting stalks and, at one corner, a head." Hubbard describes the base as "the characteristic E.E. [i.e., Early English] waterholding base mould" which is the original, whereas the columns of the base are replacements. The CPAT Montgomery Churches Survey [www.cpat.demon.co.uk] [accessed 31 December 2006] notes that in the 1931 restoration work the 13th-century baptismal font "was refixed". Described and illustrated in Thurlby (2006) with suggested date in the late 12th or early 13th century.
