Described in Orrin (1988): "The font of Purbeck marble which belongs to the Early English period of architecture, has an octagonal bowl on a cylindrical shaft and angle spurs at the base." Noted in Newman (1995) as a medieval font, "octagonal on a round stem." [NB: Orrin (1988) mentions an octagonal holy-water stoup "on the east side of the south doorway"; it may be medieval -- not listed in this Index]
