Described in Newman (2000) as a late medieval font, "hexagonal on a panelled foot with shields. Newman also mentions that the lid, "flat and covered in blind tracery patters", is the only medieval font-cover in the area. This is an odd-looking font that stands at a corner of the nave, side by side with the old [Norman?] font; it consists of three parts: a practically plain tapering hexagonal basin, raised on a hexagonal stem decorated with shields, and a hexagonal base that looks like an upside-down basin, although the shields that decorate the sides are the right way up; on a hexagonal plinth with kneeling stone.
