Font Notes:
Described in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) as a 16th century stone baptismal font with a tall sculptured font-cover made of wood. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM02001278]: "1ère moitié 16e siècle". Stone baptismal font consisting of a basin that is square at the top, but the rounded undebowl is octagonal; the sides corresponding to the square are decorated with shields bearing heraldic devices, whereas the angle sides have large foliage motifs; raised on an octagonal pedestal base with mouldings around the lower base. The wooden cover is square and flat, with a carved top; it is secured to the sides of the upper rim of the basin. This rim shows signs of having been repaired in areas where the hardware for another cover [or this one?] may have been anchored.
